Capacity of mitochondria
After the mobilization of the free fatty acid from the lipid droplet, it binds to albumin which transports it to the mitochondria of the muscle. The general rules about the fatty acid length are:
- Fatty acyl CoAs with 12–18 carbons needs a transporter
- Fatty acyl CoAs with 12-or fewer carbons can enter without transporter
