The regulation of the pathways can be done by:
- allosteric small molecules (ATP, ADP, cAMP, NADH, NAD+)
- end products of the reaction
- calcium or magnesium
- hormones
Regulation of the gluconeogenesis
Allosteric way lot of enzymes are regulated in gluconeogenesis, however, there are four enzymes that play a critical role in gluconeogenesis (Figure 1):
- Pyruvate carboxylase
- PEP carboxykinase
- F-1,6Bisphosphatase
- G-6-Phosphatase
