The regulation of the pathways can be done by:

  1. allosteric small molecules (ATP, ADP, cAMP, NADH, NAD+)
  2. end products of the reaction
  3. calcium or magnesium
  4. hormones

Regulation of the gluconeogenesis

Allosteric way lot of enzymes are regulated in gluconeogenesis, however, there are four enzymes that play a critical role in gluconeogenesis (Figure 1):

  1. Pyruvate carboxylase
  2. PEP carboxykinase
  3. F-1,6Bisphosphatase
  4. G-6-Phosphatase
