Cancer Syndromes
Cancer syndromes are inherited disorders that increase the chances of a person to develop cancer.
Examples of cancer syndromes include:
- Hereditary Non-Polyposis Colorectal Cancer (HNPCC) also knows as Lynch Syndrome that predisposes to Colon cancer
- Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP)
- Xeroderma pigmentosum
- Ataxia telangiectasia
- Fanconi anaemia
- Bloom syndrome
They arise due to loss of function
