Cancer syndromes are inherited disorders that increase the chances of a person to develop cancer.

Examples of cancer syndromes include:

  • Hereditary Non-Polyposis Colorectal Cancer (HNPCC) also knows as Lynch Syndrome that predisposes to Colon cancer
  • Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP)
  • Xeroderma pigmentosum
  • Ataxia telangiectasia
  • Fanconi anaemia
  • Bloom syndrome

They arise due to loss of function
