• Pneumonia = broad definition of any inflammation of the lung
• In case of infection:
  • Community-acquired
  • Hospital-acquired (not interesting)
• Pattern:
  • Bronchopneumonia – patchy distribution
    • Foci of acute, suppurative inflammation
  • Lobar pneumonia – homogenously, one lobe is affected
    • Stages:
      • Congestion edema
      • Red hapatization / induration
      • Gray
