Description<\/h2>\n<\/span>\n\n\n

The zygomatic (malar<\/em>) bones are paired, quadrangular bones that form the prominences on each side of the face known as the cheeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • They are located superior to the maxillae and inferolateral to the orbits.<\/li>
  • A major part of the inferior borders of the orbit is formed by the zygomatic bone.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<\/span>\n

    Articulation<\/h2>\n<\/span>\n\n\n

    The zygomatic articulates with the following bones:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Frontal bone<\/li>
    • Sphenoid bone<\/li>
    • Temporal bone<\/li>
    • Maxillae<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      The infraorbital foramen<\/strong> is found laterally on the zygomatic bone, inferiorly to the rim of the orbit. It allows the passage of the infraorbital nerve and vessels. <\/p>\n\n\n<\/span>\n

      Landmarks <\/h2>\n<\/span>\n\n\n

      Inside the nasal cavity are located, and are visible from the piriform aperture, the following structures:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • The nasal crests<\/li>
      • Nasal septum<\/li>
      • Nasal conchae<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/span>
