The function of G2 \u2013 M phase kinase"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"block-heading\" id=\"header_1\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"title_collection title1\">After biochemical changes in S phase (copying of DNA, histone synthesis)<\/h4>\n<\/span><span class=\"block-content\" id=\"contents_1\">\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The cell enters G2 state<\/li><li>The cell prepares itself for mitosis and controls S phase<\/li><li>Until the cell cycle passes from G-&gt;M until all is controlled<\/li><li>The regulation of the M phase kinase occurs via CDC2\/CDK1<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n<\/span><span class=\"block-heading\" id=\"header_2\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"title_collection title1\">This complex (M phase kinase) with cyclin B<\/h4>\n<\/span><span class=\"block-content\" id=\"contents_2\">\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It is inactive in phase G2 because it is phosphorylated at the ATP binding site (has a total of 3 phosphates)<\/li><li>Two inhibitory and one activator phosphates are there<\/li><li>Normally, the CDK1 is inhibited by the CKI<\/li><li>After the presence of cyclin-B, the inhibitor is released from the CDK1, but it is still not active<\/li><li>In the presence of cdc25 phosphatase, the THR and TYR side chains are dephosphorylated<\/li><li>Thereby activating the CDK1-cyclin B complex with the remaining activating phosphate<\/li><li>It catalyzes mitotic events up to point M (substrates H1 histone, laminae, cytoskeletal protein, centrosome)<\/li><li>Mitosis anaphase promoter complex (APC) appears<\/li><li>APC initiates CYCLIN-B release and phosphate re-release<\/li><li>The complex is inactivated and the progress is going further for the next cell cycle stage<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/meddists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/G2-M-phase-kinase_v2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Biochemical interpretation of the cell cycle.
