(CPS-I.)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><div class=\"intro\"> The CPS-I reaction is a preparatory step, the condensation and activation of HCO<sub>3<\/sub><sup>\u2013<\/sup>\u00a0and NH<sub>4<\/sub><sup>+<\/sup>. CPS-I is localised in the mitochondria and catalyses a two-step reaction (<strong>Figure 1<\/strong>). <\/div><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\"><span class=\"block-heading\" id=\"header_1\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"title_collection title1\">Production of Carbamoyl &#8211; Phosphate (CP) <\/h2>\n<\/span><span class=\"block-content\" id=\"contents_1\">\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>HCO<sub>3<sup>&#8211;<\/sup><\/sub> is activated by using ATP<\/li><li>followed by a Pi-NH<sub>4<\/sub><sup>+<\/sup>\u00a0exchange<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the second step activation of carbamate also requires ATP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CPS-I reaction is dependent on the availability of its&nbsp;<strong>allosteric activator N-acetyl glutamate<\/strong>&nbsp;(N-Ac-Glu).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the long term regulation, the expression of the enzyme (enzymes of the urea cycle) can be increased several-fold.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/meddists.com\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/AA12.png\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Carbamoyl-phosphate Synthetase, type I.
