Both isoforms are in the mitochondria. There is another abbreviation for the enzyme which is GDH. <\/div><\/p>\n\n\n<span class=\"block-heading\" id=\"header_1\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"title_collection title1\">GLUD1<\/h2>\n<\/span><span class=\"block-content\" id=\"contents_1\">\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Glutamate dehydrogenase 1 (GLUD1\/GDH1) is expressed in the liver, brain, pancreas and kidney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The primary role of the GLUD1 is transdeamination.
