class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The subinguinal hiatus is divided into three compartments (lacunae):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Lacuna musculonervosa<\/strong> (musculo-nervous compartment)<\/li><li><strong>Lacuna vasorum<\/strong> (vascular compartment)<\/li><li><strong>Lacuna lymphatica\u00a0<\/strong>or <strong>herniosa<\/strong> (lymphatic compartment)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some authors group the lacuna vasorum and lymphatica together as a single compartment.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/span><span class=\"block-heading\" id=\"header_3\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"title_collection title2\">Lacuna musculonervosa<\/h4>\n<\/span><span class=\"block-content\" id=\"contents_3\">\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lateral compartment containing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Lateral femoral cutaneous nerve<\/li><li>Iliopsoas muscle<\/li><li>Femoral nerve<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<\/span><span class=\"block-heading\" id=\"header_4\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"title_collection title2\">Lacuna vasorum<\/h4>\n<\/span><span class=\"block-content\" id=\"contents_4\">\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The middle compartment containing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Femoral artery (lateral)<\/li><li>Femoral vein (medial)<\/li><li>Femoral branch of the genitofemoral nerve<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<\/span><span class=\"block-heading\" id=\"header_5\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"title_collection title2\">Lacuna lymphatica (herniosa)<\/h4>\n<\/span><span class=\"block-content\" id=\"contents_5\">\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The medial compartment containing lymphatic vessels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The lacuna lymphatica forms the\u00a0inlet of the femoral canal known as the <strong>femoral ring<\/strong>.<\/li><li>The Rosenm\u00fcller node (or Cloquet\u2019s node) is an important inguinal lymph node located within the femoral ring.<\/li><li>The name herniosa derives from the fact that this is a potential location for a herniation.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lacuna vasorum and lacuna lymphatica are engulfed by the femoral sheath.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/span><span class=\"block-heading\" id=\"header_6\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"title_collection title1\">Femoral ring and femoral canal<\/h3>\n<\/span><span class=\"block-content\" id=\"contents_6\">\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The femoral ring is the inlet of the <strong>femoral canal<\/strong>, a potential space spanning from the femoral ring down to the saphenous opening (hiatus\/oval fossa).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table
