<\/a>Muscles<\/h4>\n<\/span>\n\n\nThere are four muscles that belong to this group:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
- Lateral pterygoid<\/strong>
- Triangular, two-headed muscle<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
- Medial pterygoid<\/strong>
- Quadrangular, two-headed muscle<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
- Masseter<\/strong>
- The most powerful of the mastication muscles<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
- Temporalis<\/strong>
- Covered by the thick temporalis fascia<\/strong> which consists of two fibrous layers with loose connective tissue in between:
- An outer layer<\/strong> that inserts on the outer margin of the zygomatic arch<\/li>
- An inner layer<\/strong> that inserts on the inner margin of the zygomatic arch<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
