It can be divided into Prenatal screening and Prenatal diagnosis.<\/div><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They are used to test the fetus&#8217; for general health and for testing embryos before implantation in In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n<span class=\"block-heading\" id=\"header_1\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"title_collection title1\">Prenatal screening vs Prenatal diagnosis<\/h4>\n<\/span><span class=\"block-content\" id=\"contents_1\">\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"pure-table\"><tbody><tr><td><\/td><td>Prenatal Screening<\/td><td>Prenatal Diagnosis<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>1. <\/td><td>Also known as Non-Invasive Prenatal testing, it is used to identify women who have a high chance to have babies with chromosomal abnormalities.<\/td><td>Also known as Invasive Prenatal Testing, it is used to confirm the results of the prenatal screening<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>2.<\/td><td>Involves non-invasive methods(isolating fetal cells\/DNA from maternal blood\/serum\/plasma).
