It is used in the development of T cells by the production of mature genes. In splicing, mature mRNA is made but unlike somatic rearrangement, the DNA is unchanged.

Robertsonian translocation

Purines: Adenine and Guanine Pyrimidines: Cytosine, Thymine(only in DNA), and Uracil(only in RNA).

Yes, this is possible. Because the SRY gene might have been translocated to the X chromosome or an autosome.

The nucleosome consists of DNA wrapped around the histone octamer(2 molecules of H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) plus the H1 histone that binds to DNA at the edge of the nucleosome. it acts as a peg to keep the nucleosome together. It is important because the nucleosome helps to keep genes compact and prevents transcription of certain genes when they are not needed.

Prenatal counseling is not helpful because the child can have either Down syndrome or monosomy 21(which is not compatible with life). The couple should be advised on other alternatives for having children.

It means that one or more codons can code for the same amino acid

Uniparental Disomy is when a person has 2 chromosomes from the same parent. It results from meiotic non-disjunction

Suxamethonium/Succinylcholine is used as a muscle relaxant for intubation anesthesia. It stops breathing and it is hydrolyzed by the butyrylcholinesterase enzyme. This inhibition lasts for 1-3 minutes, and after this time, spontaneous breathing resumes. In persons with a mutation in this enzyme, the enzyme has a poor affinity for the drug, and the muscle relaxant is not broken down quickly enough. Such patients develop prolonged apnea due to the inhibition of respiratory muscles. In such patients, longer artificial respiration with a tracheal tube is needed. This mutation is autosomal recessive.

Questions

Answers

Questions Scroll down for answers!
