DNA replication is a biological process in the S phase of producing two identical replicas of the DNA from one original DNA. The replication process happens in the eukaryotes and in the prokaryotes respectively

Place and time of the replication

Types of replication

  1. Dispersive
  2. Semi-conservative
  3. Conservative

Semi-conservative replication

Semi -conservative means that the information will be saved/conserved if there is no recombination.

Semi conservative replication

Three major phases are there in eu- and prokaryotes:

  1. Initiation
  2. Synthesis
  3. Termination
