Ischemic heart disease (IHD) is a condition in which the coronary arteries become occluded due to atherosclerosis and thrombosis.
- It can manifest in a spectrum ranging from stable disease (SIHD), to unstable and potentially life-threatening (acute coronary syndrome).
- IHD is said to be stable (SIHD) in case there is no acute worsening of the patient's condition and symptoms.
